These days, TV stars routinely do making-of videos while their hit shows are still on the air.

Their predecessors didn’t have that luxury, but their recollections are being captured by programs

like PBS’s “Pioneers of Television,” which begins a new season on Tuesday (check local listings)

with a particularly entertaining episode, “Standup to Sitcom.” The episode includes Jerry Seinfeld,

Roseanne Barr, Tim Allen and Bob Newhart, who describe how their sitcoms came about and how they

made the transition from doing stand-up to acting on TV. These stars made it look easy, but it’s a

challenge. “The difference between the stand-up and the sitcom is you’re going from the least

collaborative medium there is to the most collaborative,” Mr. Seinfeld says. “The reason you

become a comedian is you’re not a good collaborator, you’re not good with people, you’re

not good in social situations or professional situations.”

Mr. Allen, who became a star with “Home Improvement,” continues to have success today with

“Last Man Standing.” His characters on the two shows aren’t far apart. “You get paid to be a certain guy,”

he says. “They don’t want to see me doing ‘Othello.’

他從最部會合作的人變成最會合作的人, 如同ALLEN說的,

他們付錢讓他當某一個人, (看在錢的份上,他可以是任何人....)

他們的影集在台灣都演過,Steinfield比較美式笑話,ALLEN的影集還很適合闔家觀賞,
